A gift for a new baby

A sunrise over the place where they were born — the exact minute, with the baby’s name on the certificate. The nearest one or on the day you choose; a certificate to print.

Born today, or any day now?
Your First Sunrise: the very first sunrise of their life, the exact minute the sun rose over where they were born. A certificate and a poster to print. Only until that first morning.
$9.99 · Create their first sunrise

In the first days of a life, every sunrise is new. Dedicate one of them to the baby, over the place that already belongs to their story.
Most gifts for a newborn are for the parents to use. This one is for the child to keep. Choose a point on the map: the hospital where they were born, the house they came home to, the town their grandparents live in. We calculate the sunrise there to the minute, the nearest one or on the day you choose, dedicate it in the baby’s name, and record it in the Resthe registry.
The parents get a gift page with the exact local time and a countdown, and a certificate with the place, the coordinates, the time and your words, ready right after payment. When the sun rises over that point, the page changes to “Your moment has arrived”. They can download the certificate as a PDF in US Letter or A4, or print it, for a baby book or the nursery wall.

The Full Moon Night · $4.99If your gift comes a little later, or the parents are still too tired to watch a countdown. It usually comes within a month.
A few ideas for the dedication
- Write to the child, not to the parents: “For Leo, on one of your first mornings.”
- Say who it is from in a way the child will understand later: “From Grandma Ann, who flew in to meet you.”
- Keep it short: one or two sentences read best on the certificate.
Dedication length: up to 140 characters for Your First Sunrise, 240 for Sky Wonders.
Questions
Can I choose the sunrise on the exact day of birth?
Yes, with Your First Sunrise: enter the date and time of birth and the place, and we find the first sunrise after the birth. Buy it before that sunrise comes. Later on, The Sunrise dedicates the nearest sunrise, or the sunrise of any day you choose.
Do the parents need to do anything?
No. You send them a link by message or email; the gift page works on any phone, with no account and no app.
What should I put as the place?
Any point on Earth: an address, a postcode, a landmark or a pin on the map. The certificate shows the place name and the exact coordinates.
Is this an official birth record or a star name?
No. It is a symbolic dedication of a real natural moment, recorded in the private Resthe registry. It does not give ownership of anything.
What will they keep?
The gift page, with the moment’s time and place, and a certificate PDF they can download or print at any time.
Dedicate a sunrise to the baby
A commemorative dedication recorded in the private Resthe registry — not ownership of the sky, the weather or land, and not an official registration.
